What is the best way of painting my drive gates?
Removing rust by hand is nearly impossible on gates because much of it is inaccessible to machine tools. Grit blasting is the best way to remove rust. If you decide to have the gate blasted it would be sensible to get it professionally painted. Powder coating is the best when applied properly because it has the ability to wrap round the metal due to its electrostatic attraction. This ensures a good even coat of paint protects the metalwork, very difficult to achieve by brushing or spraying with car type spray guns.
With Windridge Coatings you will get a full protective system on your wrought iron gates.
The gate will be stripped, blasted back to grey metal, anti-corrosion inhibited, powder primed with water-proof primer and top coated with class 1 polyester powder. Using the most advanced powder coating system available the gate will be sprayed to the same standard as our commercial work. It will be free from runs or thin areas and will be resistant to chipping.
What is the cost of powder coating gates? The price can be a little a £70 per gate.
