Innovating colours
Powder coating is associated with flat colours with a only a small range of metallics. Windridge coatings are constantly developing new finishes, both for exclusive use to us and patented finishes for the rest of the industry. The Comet Dust now has over fifty metallics in its range with more being produced as you ask for them.
Stock
We stock over 200 colours (approximate value of a 25kg is £145). Most colours are identified with the European colour scheme abbreviated to RAL, or to the lesser-used British standard BS4800 range.

Identification
Four-digit numbers identify RAL colours. Note the trend on the first digit e.g. all yellow/creams are prefixed by a 1, e.g 1003, oranges by a 2, 2009, reds by a 3, 3001 and so on. When specifying colours the numbers rather than names should be used.

Two colour fade
Powder coating two different colours on the same work piece is notoriously difficult. Windridge Coatings has now developed a method which enables us to powder coat two colours on the same bike frame.

Green and white

Powder coating two colours
Two colours powder coated on one frame allows tail ends and fork tips to be different colours. Here a road bike required green and white.

Orange and Black

Blending two colours
This frame has been powder coated in Comet Dust orange with its tail ends in Comet Dust black. It has then been lacquered giving a deep shine metallic effect.
