Repairing, fixing and filling dents on bikes frames

Due to pressure of other work and the number of frames currently on our premises that need to be completed, we have taken the disappointing action of suspending our frame recoating service. We know it is important for you to have your frames back with a short turn round time but we are unable to do this at the moment. We apologies for the inconvenience.

Repairing dents on bikes can be done before and under powder coating. This frame has been stripped and grit blasted. The grey areas are the dents made visible after the frame has been rubbed down with rubbing down paper leaving the lower areas still rough and a different colour.	Original dent
To guarantee stability during painting the filler temperature is being carefully maintained and monitored as it cures.	Filler temperature being monitored
The advanced filler system ensures no air bubbles are trapped which can cause it to explode at the high curing temperatures. This also ensures minimal shrinkage, a regular problem with slow curing fillers.	Completed repair

The cost The price to carry out repair to damaged frames by filling using high temperature filler is as follows: General rust pit filling where possible from £40 inc VAT. Filling dents where possible, from £20 inc VAT. Large dents from £30 inc VAT. More accurate pricing may be possible by emailing a photo or waiting until we see the damage.
Medium sized dent	Medium sized dent filling The dent requires two applications with curing. Price £30 inc VAT. If you want a price to fill a dent before you send the frame, please forward a photograph like this one supplied by a customer.
Repairing chain damage	Chain damage When the chain has caused this much damage, it needs to be filled before painting. Previously it was difficult to achieve a good finish with powder coating especially on aluminium frames.
Dents repaired	This is the same frame repaired and powder coated in black gloss.
